26-year-old Mamatadevi Ram, a Dalit woman from Mahadeva rural municipality-1 filed a domestic violence case in district court on February 24 against her 36-year-old husband Rabindra Kumar Yadav, 60-year-old father-in-law Siyalala Yadav, 57-year-old mother-in-law Saraswatidevi Yadav, and 32-year-old Indudevi Yadav, Rabindra's first wife accusing them of physically assaulting and evicting her from home.
According to the victim, she went to her husband's home from her parent's home on February 9 after he did not come to take her as agreed at the court following its decision of habeas corpus case filed by Mamatadevi's father on January 28.
Rabindra and Mamatadevi had married by eloping on April 3, 2016, after falling in love. They spent two years together at Rabindra's sisters home in Hanumannagar Kankalini-1, Jhumka in Sunsari and Punjab in India. Mamatadevi gave birth to a son in Punjab on February 8, 2017. Rabindra returned to Nepal leaving Mamatadevi in Nepal after she became pregnant the second time.
