Police arrested 40-year-old Buddharaj Rai of Triyuga Municipality-1, Gaighat on March 25 on the charge of sexually abusing a 10-year-old girl.

The accused absconded after the victim filed a complaint on March 23 stating that Rai sexually abused the victim on March 22.

DSP Madhukumar Thapa of the District Police Office said that the accused was arrested for investigation on the basis of a complaint from the victim.

The victim's health check-up has been conducted at District Hospital on March 23. DSP Thapa said that the accused was under investigation.
