The district court of Dhankuta has sentenced a person from Chaubise Rural municipality accused of raping his daughter to life imprisonment. District court justice Binod Kumar Pokhrel passed the verdict on Thursday. He also ordered the accused to pay a fine of rupees 50 thousand to the victim.

The incident had come to light after the girl's teacher noticed her changing physique and upon inquiry found out that she was 8 months old pregnant after being repeatedly raped by her father.The girl said her father had been raping her since July 2018 by threatening her.
