Police on April 1 arrested 48-year-old Shyam Bharati of Chandannath municipality-4 Bharatiwada in Jumla on the charge of sexually abusing a 4-year-old minor girl.

Police arrested Bharati on the basis of a complaint lodged by the victim's relatives.

According to Inspector Nabin Oli of District Police Office Jumla, at first, the perpetrator had attempted to settle the case outside of the court by coercing the victim's family. The accused reportedly sexually abusing the minor girl studying in Namuna Primary School on April 1. The victim underwent medical examination at  Karnali Institute of Health Sciences.
