Nepali Congress blocked B.P. highway on Saturday protesting against immunity given by police to those who misbehaved with Tinpatan Rural Municipality's President Karna Thapa Magar.
They obstructed the highway for 2 hours in the morning by burning tyres saying that police had let off those who manhandled Thapa at his office on Thursday.
Thapa said police released the accused without investigation. According to DSP Lokdarshan Thapa, Madhu Katuwal who was accused of beating Thapa went on the run and another accused Consumer Committee's President Sudarshan Baral was released on bail.
Ujjwal Prasad Baral, chairperson of Nepali Congress Sindhuli said they will continue to strike until the perpetrators were held.
