A 6-year-old minor girl was sexually abused in Birtamod-5 of Jhapa. The girl's mother accused 40-year-old Prakash Tolange, a local shopkeeper of sexually abusing her daughter while she had gone to buy sweets at his shop.
According to her, she found out about the incident on Monday night while she was preparing to put powder on the girl's body and saw that her daughter's private part was unusual.
When interrogated, the minor girl revealed to her mother that the Tolange had inserted finger in her private organ. The mother went to Tolange's house to confront him the same night. Tolange at first, denied sexually abusing the girl but later attempted to silence the mother by offering her money and treatment of the victim. The victim was taken to Birtamod based Manhoman hospital the same night for medical examination. She was later taken to Mechi zonal hospital in Bhadrapur for further treatment on Tuesday.
