Police said six persons were held for their alleged involvement in gang-raping a minor girl in Ghodaghodi Municipality-4 of Kailali district.

Victims’ relatives filed an FIR on Saturday although the incident had occurred on the morning of April 14, according to Area Police Office Sukhad.

Subsequently, police arrested six youths–Rakesh Giri aka Keshav, Rupesh Chaudhary, Laxman Rawal, Hemraj Chhetri, Narendra Bishowkarma and Navin Shahi.

“Six youths gang raped the minor after giving her an injection when she was on the way to attend her relative’s wedding, in a nearby jungle,” said Police Inspector Yekcha Raj Joshi at the Area Police Office Sukhad.

Joshi further said, the minor is undergoing treatment in Kathmandu as her treatment was not possible in Nepalgunj.
