Elderly man dies in police beating, relatives deny taking the body

Locals have accused police of beating a 65-year-old man to death in Patan-6 in Baitadi. Kamal Kant Panta died last night.
Locals and relatives of the deceased have denied taking the body. They claim that Panta died as a result of police beating. The family of the deceased denied taking the body for funeral rituals.
DSP Netra Mani Giri, Chief of Baitadi District Police Office assured the family of the deceased that action will be taken against police personnel if they are found responsible.
