Tension remained high at Gandak Hospital, Birgunj, on Tuesday after the kin of an infant, who died here in the course of treatment, resorted to a demonstration alleging negligence on the part of doctors.
Parsa’s Bahudarmai Municipality’s Shreeram Mahato Koiri’s 18-month-old son, Sujit was admitted to the hospital on Saturday after he suffered from diarrhoea.
According to the kin of the deceased infant, he died on Monday after being injected with an infected syringe. “He died as the doctors injected him with a syringe that had half dose of the medicine loaded around 13 hours ago,” said the kin of the child.
