A girl was injured after being beaten by her husband in Sarlahi. 18-year-old Binitadevi Yadav of Malangawa municipality-5 sustained serious injury after being beaten by her husband, 22-year-old Raj Kumar Khirahari on Saturday saying she did not bring motorcycle and furnitures in dowry as demanded by him.
Binitadevi also miscarried as a result of being beaten by her husband. She sustained serious injury in different parts of her body and her optical nerves were torn in the attack. Binitadevi's parents reached the District Police Office Sarlahi demanding action against her husband. But, police took Raj Kumar into custody for 24 hours and released him saying that Binitadevi's parents had failed to file a complaint against him.
SP Gopalchandra Bhattarai of DPO Sarlahi said, police released Raj Kumar on the condition that he would treat his wife properly and never beat her again.
