Police have arrested 21-year-old Rupak Pant of Bhumlu rural municipality-1 on June 7 on the charge of hitting his wife Sabina Pant, 17, with a wooden stick for refusing to cook food.
The victim went unconscious when her husband, Rupak, hit her on the head with a stick on May 31 evening during a domestic dispute.
On the same day, locals rescued the victim and rushed her to Dhulikhel Hospital for treatment.
Eight stitches were placed on the victim's head. The victim filed a complaint at the District Police Office on June 7 after discharge from the hospital.
The victim, who married Rupak when she was 15 has a daughter with him. The victim's wound was attended to at District Health Office, Dhulikhel on June 7.
