Police raided a hotel of Birtamode and rescued three girls from the Prativa hotel of Birtamode who were kept as a hostage and forced to involve in sexual activities. 12 girls from Kathmandu who were working in the carpet industry were taken to Birtamode by luring them with prospect of better job opportunities.
According to police, more than one hundred small and large hotels in Birtamode, have been found to have been forcing young girls to engage in sexual activities. Police said that sex trafficking is carried out in hotels by showing greed for giving good money to young women from remote areas of the country.
According to Police Chief Madan Kumar Thapa, the hostage girls are of age 16-20. According to the statement given by the rescued girl, Prativa hotel owner Ram Krishna Kadaria has been arrested. Police Chief Thapa informed that action has been taken to initiate the operation.
