The Office of Aurahi municipality was vandalized Saturday night. under leadership of Deputy Mayor Renu Jha.
Two computers, two scanners and two printers in the Planning and Administration Unit were vandalized by a team led by Jha. Jha claimed that the incident took place as irregular activities were taking place in the evening on a holiday.
However, Mayor Sunil Kumar Yadav said the work load forced employees to work even on a Saturday.
The incident took place after a dispute arose over the reason behind the employees in the unit working on a public holiday and in the evening, said Police Inspector Kishore Acharya.
Deputy Mayor Jha was injured in the incident and is undergoing treatment at the local medical center. Meanwhile, some locals have complained that the municipality failed to meet its deadline as the employees were not regular to office.
