Protests against police in Rautahat over death of prisoners

Locals staged a demonstration in front of Area Police Office Chandranigahapur protesting the death of two prisoners in a police van accident in Rautahat. Local residents accused the two prisoners died due to police negligence.
The deceased in the accident have been identified as 20-year-old Nirmal Sahof Chandrapur and Ramesh Kumar Chaudhary of Inaruwa-2, Sunsari. They died in a police van accident near Balachanpur at Chandrapur road section on Tuesday.
Sah was arrested in a drug related case and while Chaudhary was arrested in connection with a case related to vehicular homicide. They were being taken to District Court for the extension of remand.
Police had been using an Indian van which was recovered by District Forest Office during Forest case. Some police men also sustained injury in the accident.
