Sugarcane farmers of Mohattari padlocked Everest Sugar and Chemical Industries Limited of Gausala on Thursday. Local farmers padlocked the mill demanding sugarcane supply permit on time.
According to a local farmer, Devkumar Mahato, this year, the mill opened one month later than previous year because of a dispute over price determination of the sugarcane. The mill has already crushed around 0.8 million quintal this season.
