Police have arrested 43-year-old Prakash Neupane of Palungtar Municipality-4, Chairman of the School Management Committee of Amar Janata Secondary School on the charge of sexually abusing 16-year-old girl on June 28.

The victim, a student of class-12 filed a complaint on June 27 stating accused abused her while she was sleeping in her hostel on June 24.

Students also boycotted the exam on June 27 demanding action against Neupane, who was accused of abusing the girl. Principal Madhav Devkota said as the students started the protest, the school had given a vacation from June 27 by making a decision to take exam of 3 subjects after vacation. 

SP Bhola Rijal said Neupane was lodge with a case registered of offenses against the public interest and further investigation is forwarded.

The accused Neupane, however, alleged that he was not involved in the incident. The victim underwent a medical examination at the Gorkha hospital
