Lock-out at Pokhara University continues

2019-07-05

Gandaki, Kaski, Pokhara Lekhnath

The lock-out at Pokhara University central campus by students lobbying for a chance exam for those who missed the regular exam earlier continued on the fifth day today.

The agitating students, who padlocked the administration and account sections, have threatened to intensify their agitation if their demands are not met. Around 160 Bachelor’s in Public Health first semester students, along with a few students of the third semester, had missed the April-May exam this year that was held amidst an agitation of students. The agitating students have demanded that a chance exam be held for them. Due to the lock-out, all regular classes at the campus have been halted from Friday.

Back in April-May, students had taken to agitation after 42 PU-affiliated colleges in Kathmandu accepted even students who had secured D-Plus in their Grade XII in its BPH programme.

Later, those 344 students, participated in the exam following the Supreme Court’s order that ruled that the students shouldn’t be prevented from sitting for the exam.
