Locals of Chunikhel staged a protest against the construction of deep boring for drinking water near Dhobikhola. The locals claim that the deep boring does not meet criteria and it's on a person's private land.
Police were mobilized to stop the protesters on Monday morning. A local, Suresh Kumar Rai, accused that Mayor, Deputy Mayor, and Ward Chairperson used police force and were working against the good of the locals. In the protest, locals and police clashed.
The locals are against the boring of the water because it would dry up water from the surrounding places.
