Police arrested 28-year-old Raju Waiba on July 21 on the charge of raping a 13-year-old girl. Waiba, a permanent resident of Chandrapur Municipality in Rautahat, was living in Lalitpur Metropolitan-28, Harisiddhi. 

The girl was living with the accused in Lalitpur. According to DSP Gautam Mishra, the accused brought the girl to the city in the pretext of getting her a job at a carpet industry. The victim's family shared that the accused raped the girl on April 14 and after that held her hostage at the room. 

The victim's family filed a complaint at Metropolitan Police Circle in Satdobato after the girl escaped from the room on July 19 and informed her sister who lives at Boudha.
