Police have arrested Nandalal Thakur, 40-year-old, of India Betiya and recently living at Maya Devi Rural Municipality-8 on the charge of raping a 22-year-old woman on 21 July.

The victim has filed a complaint at District Police Office on 21 July stating the accused raped the victim on 29 June while she was at her home.

DSP Dharmaraj Bhandari of the District Police Office said that the accused was arrested on the basis of the complaint filed by the victim and is under investigation.

The victim's health check-up was carried out at Bhim Hospital of Bhairahawa on 21 July.
