A Dalit woman in Mahottari was beaten after she repeatedly rejected sexual offers by a man. The 27-year-old woman who is living in her parental home with her two daughters was beaten by 28-year-old Pradeep Raut under the pretext of stealing vegetable from his field. However, the victim claimed that she was beaten for rejecting the sexual advances from Pradeep. The victim has filed a complaint demanding justice in the District Police Office, Mohattari.
According to the victim, instead of arresting the accused and taking action, the police pressured her to settle the case outside the court. Pradeep said that the allegations against him were false.
