Police arrested 50-year-old Panodevi Mandal and 26-year-old Manju Chaudary on the charge of assaulting 28-year-old Budani Mandal. Panodevi is the mother in law of  Budani while Manu is the second wife of Budani's husband. Budani was ousted from her husband's house four years ago. It had become difficult for Budani to sustain herself; therefore, she had gone to her husband's home to request some economic help. Her husband, however, directed her mother and her current wife to beat her up. Budani sustained injuries in different parts of her body due to the assault. She is undergoing treatment at Birat Medical College.
