Police nabbed Sun Bahadur Lama, 31, from Sikharpur of Panchkhal Municipality. The rape case filed by the victim states that Lama had raped the landlady at midnight on June 6. Based on the case registered by the woman, police had arrested Lama a month later, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Dipak Giri. She said Lama had repeatedly threatened and raped her.
The victim said Lama had invited her family for a feast at his place and raped her while she was asleep. “As Lama repeatedly threatened me, I registered a case with the police”, said the victim. Lama had been staying in the rented room in the victim’s home for the past five years.
After the woman filed the case, Lama had absconded.
Police arrested Lama on Monday and made him public yesterday. Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
