A Dalit man was beaten by a non-dalit for touching his tea-cup in Sukhipur municipality-6 of Siraha.
45-year-old Kishun Yadav of Sukhipur-6 beat 71-year-old elderly Dalit man Ganaura Mochi of the same place on Tuesday saying he touched Yadav's tea at a local tea-shop. Yadav reportedly verbally abused Machi and beat him with his sandal.
Dalit Development Forum Siraha program coordinator Rabin Mahara said although they tried to file a complaint against Yadav at District Police Office Siraha, police refused to register the complaint. Coordinator of United Dalit Morcha Shiva Kumar Mahara demanded action against Yadav in accordance with Laws against untouchability of Nepal.
