Demonstration staged demanding trees along ring-road to be protected

People staged a demonstration in Sitapaila, Chhauni area of Ringroad on Thursday protesting against the government's proposal to cut thousands of trees along Kalanki-Maharajgunj section of Ringroad for road expansion program. The demonstrators stressed that development should be people-oriented and trees should not be cut.
The Federal Road Supervision Monitoring Office has cited that all trees that obstruct road expansion will be cut.
