A public representative in Mahottari has manhandled the Principal of a school for not allowing him to chair a bicycle distribution program.

Bijay Mahato, chairperson of Ward No. 7 of Balwa Municipality on Thursday attacked Principal Mahesh Jha, saying that he was not invited for the chairmanship of a program of "Beti Padho Beti Bachao" Campaign. Ward chairperson along with 2 dozen people started to vandalize chair of premises. 

Principal Jha said that those who came with him, including the Chairperson, manhandled him.

Dhiraj Yadav, a student studying in class 10 who was injured in the beating, said that the ward person beat them by calling the police near their house.

Dhiraj has sustained injuries to his head whereas the other 4 students are injured in the beating. All the injured are being treated at Janakpur Zonal Hospital.
