A protest was staged against the decision of State Affairs and Good-Governance Committee and the House of Representatives to cancel the advertisement .
The examinees, who have been preparing for public service exam, staged demonstration for two hours from 10:00-12:00 by chanting different slogans from Maitighar Mandala to New Baneshwor.
The State Affairs Committee on Monday had directed to cancel the vacancy announced by the Public Service Commission for different posts and asked to appoint employees on a contract basis.
Laxman Adhikari of Geruwa Rural Municipality -3, Bardiya, who has been making preparation for Nayab Subba post, said that they were compelled to launch agitation as the decision of canceling the vacancy announced by PSC has suppressed the rights to enter in government service.
Chanda Khadka of Bajura Badimalika Municipality said she was preparing for the local level exam rather than giving her campus exams and knowing about appointing employees on a contract basis make them launch an agitation.
The government on May 29 had announced vacancy for 9,161 posts in 515 local levels through PSC. Tens of thousands of people are in preparation for a public service exam.
