The budget policy and programs of the next Fiscal Year to be presented by the municipality have been postponed due to protests by the deputy-mayor at Kalaiya sub-metropolitan city of Bara. The fourth municipal convention, which is scheduled to be held on Tuesday, was postponed due to protests by deputy-mayor Nejma Khatun and members of the sub-metropolitan city.

Deputy-mayor Khatun and other members padlocked the assembly hall where the meeting was scheduled to be held. They also staged sit-in for sometime after the padlock. Deputy-mayor Khatun said that they won't let the meeting happen as Mayor Rajesh Raya Yadav and Chief Administrative Officer Hari Narayan Belvas were trying to hold a municipal assembly against the policy.

Rajesh Raya Yadav, Mayor of the Sub-Metropolitan City, has informed that the municipal assembly has been postponed for now after the protest. Mayor said the municipal assembly has been halted as the municipal hall was padlocked as a protest by deputy mayor and others. He also added that the next year's plan, policy, and budget will be brought as soon as possible by discussing with the protesting party.
