Police arrested the journalists of Saptari who padlocked the post office of Dhanusha and staged a sit in.
The journalists had padlocked District post office, Dhanusha after the post office deducted 40 percent to 100 percent of Distribution of funds in public service advertisement. A dozen journalists who padlocked District post office were arrested using police force.
The newspapers from Saptari and Siraha districts have not received the payment of public service advertisement from the past year. Just a month ago, post office Dhanusha had sent the payment in bank accounts of the respective newspapers by cutting payment from 40 to 60 percent.
Police have released 9 journalists including FNJ Saptari district chapter vice president Shyamsundar Yadav, province 2 secretaries RN Biswas, province members Baidhyanath Yadav, Saptari district chapter members Bhushankumar Singh from the sit-in protest after an hour by arrest.
FNJ central office, Kathmandu, and Saptari district chapter have condemned the arrest of journalists.
