A man has gone on the run after raping a minor girl in Udayapur. 36-year-old Dev Bahadur Rai of Chaudandigadhi Municipality-3, Sanibare has absconded after raping a 12-year-old girl.

According to the police report, he raped the girl on Wednesday night by taking her to his house at around 11 pm by luring her by promising to buy her a mobile. The victim who is a student at a local community school stays with her sister and brother-in-law.

Police said that the incident came to the police after the victim's side disagreed to resolve it in the village community.

According to the Police, the victim's family filed a complaint at Area Police Office, Beltar. The girl is under police protection and is being prepared to be taken to District Hospital for health check-up, according to the Area Police Office, Beltar. Police have been deployed to Rai who is on the run.
