Local residents have padlocked four government offices in the protest against the seizure of 6 bigha and 14 Khata land by land mafia in Hajariya, Barathwa Municipality.
Locals padlocked the office of Barathwa municipality, Land Revenue office, Survey office and office of ward number 4 of Barathwa municipality against seizure of land by land mafia. Locals were agitated after the ward chairman Lakhendra Mahato of ward-4 passed the government-owned land under the ownership of Jagdev Mahato.
The locals have warned that the protest will continue until the land registrations to Mahato was dismissed. According to Chairman of ward-2 Yaga Bahadur Khadka, they resorted to padlocking the offices of the local government as the land on which locals had been cultivating for years were suddently transferred to few persons.
