The incident of rape on a 15-year-old girl in Deukhuri Rajpur Municipality-4 in Dang became public after she gave birth to a baby. A girl with a mental disability was raped by an elderly man of her own village.

Garhwa police said that the accused has been arrested on the basis of statements made by the victim and locals.

Police have started a further investigation into the incident by extending the remand, said Chief Giriraj Bhandari of Area Police Office.
