Panchthar district court, on 17th September, gave a verdict of 14 years of imprisonment to 24-year-old Pradip Magar for raping a 13-year-old girl.
A single bench of Judge Mohan Bhattarai also asked the accused to pay Rs 50,000 compensation to the victim. The accused was remanded to custody since 11th April.
Police had arrested the accused on March 18 on the charge of raping the girl on March 11. The relatives of victims had filed a complaint on March 19 in the Panchthar district police office. The victim underwent a medical examination on the same date.
