31-year-old Aasha Devi Das has asked for help with the media personals and the woman rights activist, saying that she has faced the threat from her father-in-law, husband, and sister-in-law. She, amidst the press conference, said that she faced more threats after she, on August 25, had filed the complaint of domestic violence in the police and administration. She mentioned in the complaint that the accused had assaulted her on August 23. Both the sides had reached a mutual agreement on August 28 that the victim would return home and that the accused would not repeat the act against the victim. However, the victim was re-assaulted and ousted from her home even after that.
