According to Rajendra Adhikar, Police Inspector at the District Police Office, Nawalpur, Tek Bahadur Ghale, 65, of Bharatpur Municipality-16 currently residing at Gairi in Nawalpur was arrested on the rape charges yesterday.
Subsequently, police presented the suspect before the District Court today itself and remanded in custody for further investigation, PI Adhikari shared.
After a preliminary investigation, police have revealed that Ghale used to lure the minor girl with monetary value before committing a heinous crime. Medical tests have confirmed that the minor is 12-weeks pregnant, police said.
Police quoted as doctors saying that the 12-weeks fetus cannot be aborted. The news came to fore after the family members of the victim noticed an unexpected growth on her abdomen.
The family members then filed a First Information Report (FIR) against the septuagenarian and demanded stern against him.
