Gandaki, Nawalparasi East, Bulingtar
The facilitators of child classes in Bullingtar Rural Municipality East Nawalparasi have staged a protest saying the government has not increased their salary.
They demanded a increase in salary and handed over the memorandum to the Bullingtar Rural Municipality and closed the community schools within the rural municipality on Tuesday.
The federal government has been providing a monthly salary of Rs 6,000 to the facilitator, while some schools and local governments are providing them some extra money in that salary.
According to Basanti BK, Chairperson of the Struggle committee, they are protesting because this year, the government has increased the salary of the staff and teachers of other sectors, but their salary is not increased.
Chief of the District Education and Coordination Unit Office, Nawalpur, Krishna Chandra Pokhrel said that despite the rumor of school closure, some schools were closed but most schools were open.
