Police intervened in a protest staged by the agitating teachers. Police and the teachers clashed during a strike staged in front of the chief minister's office and cabinet office in Janakpur on Wednesday afternoon.
During the clash, police arrested Jurni Mandal, Rekha Kapad, Shashikala Bhattarai, Kiran Yadav, Mukesh Tiwari, Anand Chaurasia and Salim Ansari.
Coordinator of the Temporary Teachers' Movement Operational Committee, Dharmendra Kumar Yadav, claimed that their protest was intervened by the police and teachers were arrested under the direction of Chief Minister Lal Babu Raut Gaddi of province 2.
