Suman Nepali and 15-year-old Rama met outside a public toilet in Lagankhel, Lalitpur. Soon after meeting, Suman tried to show some temptation to Rama by promising her a job in a cafe. Suman was a complete stranger to Rama. 

The two boarded a bus from Lagekhel and went to Welcome Cafe operated by Bishal Tamang at Thaiba, Godavari Municipality 12. Rama was offered a job of a waitress which she took. Once Rama agreed to take the job of the waitress, Suman asked her to work as a sex worker if she wants to make more money. After Rama agreed to Suman's offer she was locked in a room and made to work as a sex worker. 

On October 19, the police was informed about a juvenile being forced to work as a sex worker. Upon receiving the information the police began a search for Rama. Finally, she was rescued on October 21 from a room at the welcome cafe in Thaiba, Godavari.
