Birgunj police have fired shots and arrested an alleged kidnapper on Tuesday night. The abducted child, however, is safe, claim police.
The incident happened at Sirsiya in Birgunj on Tuesday night. Police say they fired shots at Raj Kumar Das from Pokhariya Municipality in Parsa on the right leg, while he was trying to escape, pointing a gun towards them.
SP Somendra Singh Rathore told Onlinekhabar that police had fire shots to capture Das and rescue the child. He added that police had followed the child’s parents, who were on their way to pay the ransom amount.
“The child is okay. Nothing happened to him,” said SP Rathore.
Das, who has been injured due to the bullet, is being treated at Narayani Hospital.
