80-year-old Laxmi Devi Thakuri, has accused her son 50-year-old Raju Hamal, of ousting her from the house. Thakuri, a resident of Badaiyataal Rural Municipality-6, has further accused her son of depriving her of the food and clothes and of not caring for her when she became ill.
Raju said that he had thrown the clothes out in frustration over the mother's frequent gossips about household matters with outsiders.
The Deputy Chairperson of Badaiyataal Rural Municipality said the discussion for moving the woman to an elderly-home is underway. However, the rural municipality has been criticized for not lobbying to get the woman back home but for arranging to move the woman to elderly home instead.
