Surkhet Valley Drinking Water Consumers Association was padlocked by the Association's Labor Trade Union staffs. Employees led by the union Chairperson Ganeshmana Khanal said they padlocked the office after their demand was not addressed even on their repeated requests. Chairperson Khanal said they padlocked the office as the Scheme chief and staffs of Scheme numbers 4, 5, 9 were working against their interest.
He said that no other function of the office except drinking water distribution would be allowed. Khanal warned of agitating more strongly if the demands are not addressed. Employees are demanding contract-based employees who have been working for a long time to be permanent.
