Driver dies in police custody, family stages protest

21-year-old Ganesh Pali died in Gaura police station situated in Jorayal Rural Municipality-1. The police arrested Pali for blocking the road section between Gaura and Dadeldhura with his Mahendra Jeep bearing plate number SE 1 JA 212.
According to the District Police Office, Pali ingested two capsules of unknown medicine while he went to the toilet and he collapsed when he came out of the bathroom.
The relatives of the deceased staged a protest stating that the death was suspicious. The body has been sent to Sub-Regional Hospital in Dadeldhura for post mortem examination.
