Hundreds of youth picketed District Police Office demanding capital punishment to the perpetrator of a rape case. Police have been unable to nab the perpetrator involved in the rape of a 20-year-old girl of Hanshapur Municipality-4. They have furthermore claimed that the police have been hesitant to file the complaint. DSP of the district police, Rameshwor Karki, claimed that police were unable to file the complaint since the required procedure was not completed. The mother of the victim had forgotten to sign in the complaint document and has not come to the police station when called to sign the document, he further added.
21-year old Pravin Kapar has been accused of raping the girl on November 15 when no one was in the home. The victim has been kept in the safe house of the WOREC in Janakpur. The locals are agitated since the police have not been able to nab the absconding perpetrator.
