The stakeholders staged a protest in Kathmandu on December 4 against the allocation of inadequate compensation for the land in Aarughat of Gorkha and  Bishalnagar of Dhading district. They have demanded the government to reallocate the compensation amount. 

The central member of the Nepali Congress and former Member of Parliament Chinakaji Shrestha said that the compensation amount is lower than the demands of the local. He said that although the compensation amount was determined by consensus earlier, the government has fixed the price illegally this time around.

Shrestha warned of immediate agitation if the review of the compensation amount was not made in consultation with the locals of the affected area.

During the demonstration, the protestors shouted slogans  such as: 'We do not value impractical compensation", We do not want declared compensation", " Do a cumulative real estate assessment."
