The relatives of 20-year-old Jyoti Nayak, the wife of Nabin Kishor Shah of Chirreshwornath Municipality-5, have accused Nabin of murdering Jyoti on December 11 for not bringing fridge as dowry.
Nabin Kishor and Jyoti were married on March 3, 2019, and Jyoti's family had given a dowry worth of 1.7 million rupees that included cash, jewelry, and furniture. Nabin Kishor's family, however, claim that Jyoti committed suicide by hanging herself. Police said that a shawl was found wrapped in Jyoti's neck when they reached the incident spot, said Inspector Amir Dahal. Police are further investigating the incident.
