Members of the Gurung community staged a demonstration in Butwal on Sunday protesting against the government's decision to revoke the National Holiday on Tamu Lhosar. Tamu Lhosar is the biggest festival of the Gurung community. The protest was lead by Tamu Hyul Chhonj Dhi Gurung National Council Rupandehi.
The protest comprising of thousands of participants adorned in Gurung costumes took out the protest from Bhudkichowk to Milanchowk. They carried placards demanded the government to declare National Holiday on Lhosar, End cultural discrimination amongst others.
