A 3-year-old girl from Salghari in Bhimdata Municipality-18 has been murdered after being raped. According to DSP Narendra Chand of District Police Office Kanchanpur, Indra Chunara, the girl's step-father committed the crime when the minor girl was alone at home. Police have arrested him and are further investigating the incident.

According to a local woman, Indra had brought the minor girl's mother from Jogbhuda in Dadeldhura around 3 months ago and they had been living together. The girl's body has been kept at Mahakali hospital in Bhimdattanagar for further investigation. "The girl's mother had gone to fetch firewood in Salghari park at the time of the incident and the accused has confessed to his crime." said DSP Chand.
