Locals of Khokana demonstrate smearing soot in symbolic protest

Locals of Khokana in Lalitpur staged a demonstration smearing black soot on their own faces on Tuesday protesting against the fast-track road being built to connect Kathmandu with Terai. The locals are protesting different development projects including the fast-track, outer ring-road, and smart city amongst other citing that these projects were being built at the expense of the local's private lands and cultural monuments.
