Police on January 14 arrested Laxman Limbu of Sidingwa Rural Municipality-4 Taplejung on the charge of attempting to rape a 21-year-old girl in a public vehicle.

According to DSP Deepak Giri of District Police Office Kabhre, police arrested Limbu on the basis of a complaint lodged by the victim against him on January 14. According to her, Limbu repeatedly tried to rape her touching her private parts while they were travelling together in a jeep bearing plate number Ba 3 Cha 3314 from Damak to Kathmandu. 

The District Court has remanded Limbu into custody for four days for further investigation informed, DSP Giri.

The victim underwent a medical examination at Dhulikhel hospital.
