Locals of the Nijgadh Municipality, Bara protested against security forces after the Division Forest Office took control of an excavator which was used being used to cut down green trees.
The locals vandalized a van of the Division Forest Office Bara bearing the number plate Na 1 Jha 1695. The front glass and looking glass of the van was broken due to vandalism.
The villagers argued that the excavator was being used to fell trees for road expansion purpose and there was no need for the Forest Office to take the van into control.
Chief of the Division Forest Office Bara and DFO Manjur Ahmed said that the excavator could not be brought because of the obstruction by villagers. According to the Forest Office, it took the van into control after more than two dozen trees were fell without following proper procedures in the name of road expansion.
